Experienced Oracle DBA to manage and optimize Oracle environments running on Amazon RDS for Oracle. This offshore role provides 24/7 coverage and focuses on availability, performance, security, automation, and GoldenGate-based replication/migration support (classic configuration).
Core Responsibilities
- Administer Oracle databases on Amazon RDS: provisioning, configuration, patching, maintenance windows, and upgrades.
- Manage performance using RDS Performance Insights, CloudWatch, OEM, AWR/ADDM, and related tools.
- Execute backup and recovery strategies using RMAN and RDS snapshots.
- Support high availability, multi-AZ deployments, DR planning/testing, and GoldenGate replication.
- Troubleshoot production issues, address performance bottlenecks, and participate in on-call rotations.
- Automate operational tasks using Shell, Python/Perl, AWS CLI, and basic SDK tooling.
- Maintain security standards, user access controls, encryption, and compliance requirements.
Required Experience
- 5+ years Oracle DBA experience (11g–21c) & SQL tuning experience.
- 2+ years with Amazon RDS for Oracle & DMS experience
- 2+ yrs Aurora MySQL, postgreSQL, SQLserver exoereince..
- Strong SQL/PLSQL, RMAN, performance tuning, and Linux/Unix administration.
- 5+ yrs Hands-on GoldenGate experience (classic configuration), includes install patch upgrade configure. Goldengate active/active config w/ CDR & macro experince.
- Solid understanding of AWS fundamentals (VPC, IAM, CloudWatch, RDS configurations).
Nice to Have
- ASM exposure, DMS experience, or familiarity with other RDS engines.
Oracle OCP or AWS certifications.
